11. AI Data Processing
11.1. Certain features of the Services use artificial intelligence, machine learning, or related automated technologies provided by us and, where necessary, by selected third-party service providers that support, host, or enable such features. This Section explains what data may be processed in connection with such features, how such data is collected, how it is used, with whom it may be shared, and what choices are available to you.
11.2. When you choose to use AI-powered features of the Services, we may collect and process, depending on the feature you use and the content you choose to submit: (i) text prompts, instructions, queries, captions, or other text inputs you enter; (ii) images, videos, audio files, or other content that you upload, import, capture, select, or otherwise submit for generation, editing, enhancement, analysis, transformation, or other AI-enabled processing; (iii) reference materials, style inputs, or source materials that you choose to provide for AI-enabled processing; (iv) outputs generated for you through the relevant AI-powered feature; and (v) limited technical, operational, and transactional data necessary to provide, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the relevant feature, such as internal request and session identifiers, timestamps, service or model selection, app version, device or operating system information, network diagnostics, and similar usage or performance data.
11.3. We collect AI-related data directly from you, when you enter prompts, upload or select content, or otherwise choose to use an AI-powered feature; and automatically, when the relevant request is processed through our systems and supporting service providers, including limited technical and usage information required to authenticate, route, secure, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot the feature.
11.4. We use AI-related data to: (i) provide the AI-powered feature requested by you; (ii) generate, edit, enhance, transform, analyze, or otherwise process content in accordance with your request; (iii) return and display outputs to you; (iv) maintain, secure, support, debug, monitor, and improve the functionality, reliability, and safety of the Services and the relevant AI-powered features; (v) detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, misuse, harmful content, security incidents, or violations of our terms or applicable law; and (vi) comply with legal, regulatory, and enforcement obligations. We do not use your prompts, uploaded content, or outputs to train our own AI models.
11.5. To provide certain AI-powered features, we may transmit AI-related data to selected third-party providers that support, host, or enable such features. Depending on the feature used, such providers may process prompts, uploaded or submitted content, generated outputs, and limited technical or transactional data necessary to provide the requested functionality.
We engage such providers as service providers as processors or sub-processors under applicable data protection law and our contractual arrangements with them. We require them to process personal data only for the purpose of providing services to us, in accordance with our instructions, subject to applicable law and appropriate contractual, technical, and organizational safeguards. We require any third-party AI provider with whom we share personal data to provide the same or equal protection of such data as described in this Privacy Policy.
Before we transmit your submitted media (including face-containing images) to a third-party AI listed in Section 11.6, we will request your explicit permission. If you do not grant permission, the relevant feature will not run.
Third-party providers may retain limited content for a short period to provide the service, maintain reliability, and prevent abuse, according to their policies.
